DHS hosts Drama Territory Professional Development

On Thursday 15 February Drama Territory held a Professional Development workshop for twenty-five teachers from Darwin, Palmerston and the rural area at Darwin High School. Nicole Reilly, teaching artist in residence from Zen Zen Zo, conducted the workshop and introduced the participants to a range of physical theatre activities that could be used in any classroom.

Activities ranged from “Silly Yoga” and voice warm ups using Linklater to trying some Butoh and introducing Viewpoints. Everyone appeared to really enjoy themselves and went away with a new tool box of activities to try with their students. Drama Territory, an education association connected to Drama Australia, hopes to conduct more Drama Professional Development workshops throughout the year.
