DHS Students Walk for Suicide Prevention

A group of passionate Darwin High School students – May Hoshi, Benjamin Westacott, Clementine Heaslip, Ellery Martin, Indie Mills, Julian Ortega, Felix Wagnon and Nokthor Tripura – are raising awareness for suicide prevention.

To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, the team committed to walking 9km, representing the nine Australians who tragically lose their lives to suicide each day. Individually, May set a personal goal of $585 and has already raised $1,351. As a team, they exceeded their $3,000 target, raising $3,262 – enough to fund 83 Lifeline calls for those in need.

The students are proud to support such a vital cause and demonstrate the impact that dedication and compassion can have on the community.
