Duke of Edinburgh Awards 2020
Darwin High School Year 12 students Hannah Kwon and Denver Kyriakou, Year 11 students Mitchel Brauer, Summer Gray Browne, William Murphy and Luke Symonds (pictured above) received recognition at a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Ceremony on Friday 13 November.
DHS Graduates Chloe English, Simrat Gill and Faiza Choudhury were also recognised at the event.
The Duke Edinburgh’s International Award is an internationally recognised program for young people, building their skills to equip them for life and work. Students who complete the Award learn skills, improve their physical wellbeing and volunteer in their community.
The choice to do the Award is entirely voluntary and students determine the activities they want to take part in. It is a very personal program that offers young people a structure to fulfil their passions and ambitions in a way that suits them.
At Darwin High School students complete the Award independently and are expected to facilitate their own progress through the program. The Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator provides supervision and support for Award activities and assessments.
Anyone wishing to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh program in 2021 can see Mr Ergos for more information.
Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic achievement.
