Duke of Edinburgh Awards

Darwin High School students recognised at the Duke of Edinburgh Awards held at Government House on Thursday 22 June.
Congratulations to Cindy Um on receiving her gold award and HuiMin Shi on receiving a silver. Chenoa Al-Theyab and Chloe Lay also received silver awards but were unable to attend the ceremony.
The Duke Edinburgh’s International Award is an internationally recognised program for young people, building their skills to equip them for life and work. Students who complete the Award learn skills, improve their physical wellbeing and volunteer in their community
The choice to do the Award is entirely voluntary and students determine the activities they want to take part in. It is a very personal program that offers young people a structure to fulfil their passions and ambitions in a way that suits them.
At Darwin High School students complete the Award independently and are expected to facilitate their own progress through the program. The Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator provides supervision and support for Award activities and assessments.
Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic achievement.
