Engineering Encouragement Award
On Monday 19 May four Darwin High School students and teacher Ms Tan attended the 'Meet An Engineer' luncheon, hosted by Engineer Australia.

The four students, William Mcclay, Kitty Nguyen, Dion Choong, Emma Pham were awarded with the Engineering Encouragement Award in 2016 and the event allowed for students all around Darwin to meet with real life Engineers, Nathan Ting, Chris Lugg, Mark Monoaghan and others.
The engineers shared their stories of how they came to be an engineer and let students inquire into their daily lives, in the hope of inspiring the future students to take on a career in engineering and be aware of how everyday engineering affects our daily lives and helps us live more efficiently and safely.
I think it’s a good opportunity to let us talk with real professionals since it really brings a more realistic expectation to life. I hope these opportunities are presented to more students next year!
