Excursions to Power and Water and Darwin Waterfront Precinct

Excursions to Power and Water and Darwin Waterfront Precinct

This term Darwin High School Year 10 Business and Technology students were given the opportunity to see first-hand the types of technologies used at the Power and Water Warehouse and the Darwin Waterfront Wave pool.

These excursions encouraged students to look at issues such as the impact of technology on the environment and ecological sustainability. At Power and Water, the students took a tour of the warehouse and were shown the office based technology. At the Waterfront Precinct, students had a tour of the Wave Pool Plant room where they were shown the generators, the pumps, filters, compressors and how all these operated for the wave pool. Students were shown the wave lagoon and the design and technology aspects of the environmentally friendly, multi-storey carpark.

Pictured above are the Darwin High School, Year 10 Business and Technology students on their excursion to the Power and Water Warehouse.
