Film Excursion Darwin Festival
On Thursday Miss Saunders and Miss Polly took Stage 1 and 2 Film students into the city to see two Darwin Festival shows. The first was called 'Night Night' presented at Browns Mart, a show combining theatre and live filming.
Students loved the mix of creativity, technology and music and the chance to become stars (if you've seen the show you'll know). We had a Q&A session afterwards with Ariel and Tim the shows creators, and much curiosity was sparked.

We then headed off to view a film exhibition by Darwin based filmmaker Naina Sen, called Shundori at Qubit gallery. Large scale video works featuring women from South East Asia and covering themes such as the caste system, gender, and feminist ideals.

Shundori was a visual and auditory feast, students fully immersed themselves in the space and took away lots of inspiration. It is so exciting to have access to such beautiful and relevant artwork in Darwin as part of the Darwin Festival.
