"First Frames" - A Night at the Cinema

On Thursday, 23rd October, Miss Saunders and her Stage 2 Film class made history at the Deckchair Cinema with their final film screening event, "First Frames." This special evening marked a significant milestone as the first time the Deckchair Cinema has dedicated an entire night to showcasing youth films.

The event was a resounding success, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of over 150 attendees. Staff members, families, and community members came together to celebrate the creative achievements of our budding filmmakers, filling the venue with support and encouragement.

The students' hard work throughout the year culminated in this memorable screening, providing them with the invaluable experience of seeing their films projected on the big screen in a professional cinema setting. The atmosphere was electric as each film played, with the audience responding warmly to the students' creativity and storytelling.

The evening concluded with an awards presentation, and we are thrilled to announce that our students swept all three categories! Claudia Wyles took home Best Film Narrative, while Max Williamson claimed both Best Sound and the People's Choice Award. Special recognition goes to Milo Van Haeften, who composed the original score for Max's award-winning film.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Deckchair Cinema for this wonderful opportunity and for supporting young Territory voices. Congratulations to Miss Saunders and all the Stage 2 Film students on this outstanding accomplishment!
