Health and Lifestyle Expo 2021

Health and Lifestyle Expo 2021

By teacher Caillan Symons

On Friday the 4 June, Darwin High School hosted its annual Healthy Living Expo, in which over 40 local health organisations exhibited at the school.

The healthy living industry organisations set up stalls for the students to engage in fun activities, learning, taking home gifts and discovering new opportunities.

With Basketball, Netball, Volleyball and Rugby stalls running outside alongside a Surf Rescue jet ski and a St John Ambulance, students had a variety of activities to enjoy. Inside, the vertical jump test was a popular station, as well as the therapy dogs, blending your own smoothie with the Darwin City Council Smoothie Bikes, CPR dummies that gave live feedback, Gerry the Germ, and so much more.

The day was a great success thanks to the super engaging and passionate people that visited and provided so many great opportunities for the students. It's great to know the health of our community is in the hands of such a dedicated group of people. Thanks to all the staff and Mr Symons' Year 11 Health class who got involved and helped out on the day, as well as all Darwin High Students for treating our visitors with such respect and enthusiasm.

Looking forward to an even bigger and better Healthy Living Expo next year!
