Health Expo 2018

Health Expo 2018

On Friday 18 May Darwin High School held its second annual Health Expo event in the Tank.

Forty community organisations attended the expo promoting the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle, and aiming to raise awareness of the key issues that can impact on young people in the Northern Territory.

Staff and students interacted with experts from the health and wellbeing industry and participated in fun activities, including blood alcohol testing, vision goggle mazes, viewing materials under microscopes and operating smokelysers.

In May, all students from Darwin High got the chance to attend our annual health exposition in the tank. Facilities and health institutions ranging from dental heath, to drug awareness, to medical school information, to service dogs, to nutrition and many more, were all open for students to see and explore and ask some questions about for a couple hours. We were lucky enough to have all of these professionals visit the school to provide students with more health education and overall safety regarding a whole variety of topics and ultimately ensure their health is at their optimum and this is why we, as students, look forward to this fun and educational event every year.
