Indonesian Dancing Workshop
Last week, our Indonesian Language students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a traditional Indonesian Dancing Workshop.
Year 11 student Russell Charleston said
“Today we learnt traditional cultural Indonesian dancing in period 3 and 4. It was very engaging, and I really enjoyed watching and practicing the dances. I found it really cool that we wore Indonesian skirts to dance with and used them as drums. Both instructors and their children were very helpful, respectful, and patient in teaching us. Their children were impressive, especially the little girl who performed the solo dances. I think I need to stretch more as sitting on my knees was a challenge! In conclusion, it was really fun and I learnt a lot about Indonesian culture too.”
A big thank you to our guest instructors and their talented children for sharing their culture with our students.
