International Education Excursion
By International Student Coordinator, Lily Zong
On Friday 11 September, forty Darwin High School International students and their friends went on an ice skating excursion.
The event was a success, with most students confidently gliding across the ice. For some students it was their first-time-ever ice skating, they were more cautious and sat and watched their peers on the rink before building the confidence to skate themselves. The penguin helper was a useful tool to help with balance. Everyone had plenty of fun.
The ice skating session also included disco lights, music, and some games. All students had an amazing time and great fun. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to interact and new friendships were formed.
Darwin High School would like to thank the Northern Territory Government for supporting the excursion via an International Student Wellbeing Grant.
A big thank you to DHS staff Jacob Andreae, Tina Sketchley, and Kevin Northcote for their time and support.
Also a big thank you to the Darwin ice skating staff who were friendly, helpful, and went beyond every effort to make our afternoon so incredible.
