Darwin High School triumphs at Interschool Basketball

Darwin High School students competed at the Interschool Darwin Region Basketball competition last month.

In previous years Darwin High School has entered up to fourteen teams with unlimited entries, but this year each school was limited to two boys’ and two girls’ teams. Approximately 90 students trialled for our four teams of 32 players.

Our boys’ teams consisted of one side who won the International High School Basketball Championship at the end of last year and the other mostly lads from Year 12 with some NT representative players. Our standard was such that these two teams played off in the/aFinal that produced high level skills and a very close 1 point result to the Malaysia Champions side.

The girls’ teams played with enthusiasm, good team work and comradery to finish third.

Overall both girls’ and boys’ teams displayed excellent sportsmanship, talent and morale throughout the day.
