Invitational Team on International Tour
Following on from the success of Darwin High School at the International Invitational Basketball Tournaments held in Malaysia over the past three years, Darwin High School has been invited to participate in the Men’s Basketball World Championships tournament in China.

The 2019 Darwin High School Invitational basketball team will depart Darwin for Shenzhen on Sunday 1 September to play a series of invitational games and spectate matches in the Men’s Basketball World Championship.
From Shenzhen the team will travel by bullet train to Shantou where they will stay at the University of Shantou as guests of the Head Coach Basketball and former NBL coach Bill Tomlinson. Four games will be played against university campus teams, the university Freshman Team and schools.
From Shantou the team will travel to Dongguan and stay at the Dongguan Basketball School, a feeder school to the NBA Academy which has an eight court indoor training and playing facility. The team will cheer on the Australian Boomers, who most recently beat the USA in the first round game against Lithuania, on their first night and then play games against the Dongguan U18 team and another City high school.
On their last day, the team will travel back to Shenzhen and watch the second round play-off games which should feature Team USA before flying home.
