A Night of Stories and Screen Magic at Darwin High
On Wednesday 5 June, Darwin High School proudly hosted the debut screening of short films created by our Stage 1 Film students—an exciting celebration of storytelling, creativity, and technical skill.
Friends, family, and classmates gathered for an evening of cinematic talent, enjoying a vibrant mix of thoughtful, reflective, and often humorous short films. Each production offered a unique glimpse into student perspectives, highlighting the power of storytelling through film.

Adding to the movie magic, students also unveiled their original film posters, giving the event a full red-carpet experience and showcasing their flair for visual design.
To wrap up the evening, some students and staff made their way to the Deckchair Cinema for a special community screening of Tracy—a moving drama inspired by Cyclone Tracy. Written and directed by Darwin High alumnus Kostadinos Hatsilalamsis, the film was partly shot on our campus and featured familiar faces, including former teachers, students, and our very own Sevi Redwood in her feature film debut.

Tracy stands as a powerful tribute to the Territory’s resilience, and we are proud to see Darwin High talent shine both on screen and behind the scenes.
