Museum and Art Gallery Study Day

Museum and Art Gallery Study Day

By teachers Ms Polly and Ms Saunders

Recently Stage 2 Visual Arts and Creative Arts students had the opportunity to participate in the Study Day held at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

During this enriching experience, our students had the chance to engage with the Exit art exhibition, showcasing the remarkable work of Year 12 students from across the territory in 2023. This exhibition not only provided them with inspiration but also helped them gain a deeper understanding of the requirements for their course. This insight into contemporary art practices and perspectives will undoubtedly enrich their creative endeavours and academic journey.

Additionally, our students benefited from a floor talk by head curator, Bryony Nainby, of the current “52 Actions” exhibition, where they learned about the art and artists featured in the display.

Participation in events like these is invaluable for our students’ growth and success. It not only broadens their artistic horizons but also enhances their critical thinking and analytical skills.
