New Home for Winning Artwork

New Home for Winning Artwork

On Monday 19 February, students from the Darwin High Outreach of Henbury School presented their local member, the Hon. Lauren Moss MLA, with the artwork which won the 3D category of the Henbury Art Exhibition late last year.

The artwork, entitled Inspiration Project, will be hung in the Electorate or Parliamentary office of Ms Moss. Students Gerry, Despina, Rachael and Dawyte had studied the novel Blueback by Tim Winton. They chose to do a project inspired by the novel. The students decided to use the theme of “Home” and what home means to people. They asked contributors to present their thoughts in matchboxes which were then placed over a map of the Northern Territory.

As a token of her gratitude Ms Moss presented the students with three-hundred dollars worth of art products for their next project.
