Open for Business

Term Two saw Year 10 Commerce students operated their businesses successfully. The students ran their businesses throughout the week from week 2-6 at lunchtime.
The students worked very hard in their groups, operated professionally and collaborated in discussion so the businesses ran smoothly. Through the course of running the businesses, students developed skills in marketing, business management, customer service and financial record keeping, banking (using square reader-eftpos) and decision making.
Each group received a loan of up to $100 to finance their business with a 10% interest. Prior to running their businesses, students created a business plan. The following businesses were run: Baked goods, chocolates treats, henna tattoos, fruit smoothies, coffee and iced chocolate, donuts, polaroid photo booth, customisable mirrors, scented products and car wash.
