Outdoors with Outdoor Ed

Outdoors with Outdoor Ed

Stage 1 and Stage 2 Outdoor Education students have been doing a unit on rock climbing in term 1.

Mr Dalgleish and Mr Bent's classes have been learning essential climbing skills including how to belay, abseil and set up anchor systems.

Stage 1 students will be doing a day trip to Hayes Creek in late March to put their skills into practice and the Stage 2 students will be doing a 4-day trip in April. As well as being fun climbing pushes students outside of their comfort zones and helps them to develop risk awareness and management skills, trust and personal responsibility.
