P.A.R.T.Y Program Semester 2 Wrap Up
Over the course of this Semester 46 Darwin High School students had the opportunity to visit Royal Darwin Hospital to take part in the P.A.R.T.Y. Program.
The P.A.R.T.Y. Program is a dynamic, interactive injury prevention and health promotion program designed for high school students. It is designed to help teenagers learn about some of the dangers of risk-taking behaviour and the tragic consequences that can occur if you participate in this type of behaviour.
Paramedics, Fire Rescue Service, doctors, nurses and physiotherapists described the painful journey of a trauma patient. The students learnt about head and spinal injuries and had hands-on experience with some of the equipment used in trauma care and rehabilitation.
