Port Power on Campus

Port Power on Campus

On Wednesday 1 November the Port Adelaide Australian Football League (AFL) Club came to Darwin High School to deliver their Power To Be Positive Program. The program provides young people the skills and knowledge necessary to demonstrate resilience when they are confronted with challenging situations.

The Power to be Positive Program is a wellbeing and resilience program facilitated by the Port Adelaide Football Club and female athletes from a variety of other sports. Port Adelaide developed the program in conjunction with the South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).

The students work shopped key wellbeing elements including positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, achievement plus optimism, fitness, nutrition and sleep. In addition to this the program also touched on curriculum related areas including positive thinking, gratitude, mindfulness, growing from challenges and goal setting.

The program was thoroughly enjoyed by all the students who participated, thank you to all those who attended and to the Port Adelaide Football Club and staff for including Darwin High School.
