Power of Engineering

Power of Engineering

On Thursday 6 June ten Darwin High School students participated in a Power of Engineering workshop at Charles Darwin University.

Power of Engineering is an Australian-wide organisation that is focused on changing perceptions of engineering amongst high school aged students by introducing them to a variety of engineering career pathways. The group of Year 10 Science students had the opportunity to interact with members of the engineering industry who provided practical and creative experiences to help them better understand engineering and how it impacts our world.

The students were engaged in four different workshops (wind tunnels, make your own glue, build your own robot arm and floating houses). Students also meet industry professionals at Ludmilla Power Water Station and experienced local engineering projects such as Ludmilla Sewerage Treatment Plant.
