Photography QUEST at DHS
Late last term the Darwin High School Photography Department hosted a visit from 15 Larrakeyah Primary School students and their teacher, Danni Mattiazzo, for the QUEST program.
The innovative program aims to connect, inspire and bring real-life contexts to Year 5 and 6 students. The Larrakeyah Primary School students are investigating the question, "How do we use photographs to tell a story?
Darwin High School’s Photography teacher, Dina Campbell-McQuillan, designed three activities to challenge the Year 11 Photography Part 2 students to share their technical knowledge with these primary school students.
Darwin High would like to thank Danni Mattiazzo for inviting Darwin High School to participate in this innovative program. Our students shared technical skills (controlling motion) that could help these budding photographers tell stories visually.
This collaborative project highlighted the benefits to all involved through developing communication skills, listening, and problem-solving together to improve results. A snapshot of some of the work is included below.
