Remembrance Day 2019
Darwin High School students have continued the School’s longstanding tradition of participating in the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Darwin Cenotaph on Monday 11 November.

Monday 11 November 2019 marked the 101st anniversary of the Armistice, which ended the First World War (1914-18). Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts and appreciation of their sacrifice.
SIEU student Co Dieu, Year 10 student Ben Leishman, Year 11 students Roan Gallacher, Liam Harwood and Raquel Samson and year 12 student Drew Holloway, braved the heat and humidity to represent Darwin High School at the annual Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph to assist with the sale of poppies to honour those men and woman who served.
The students received many compliments on their efforts from important people on their presentation and demeanour. The students were great ambassadors for Darwin High School and should feel very proud of their efforts supporting the Darwin RSL Remembrance Day Commemoration.
Thanks to Judy Boland and Christine Latham for chaperoning the students at the event.
