SALT Workshop

SALT Workshop

On Monday 24 May Darwin High School hosted SALT (Supporting And Linking Tradeswomen) Workshop in the Pavillion.

20 female Darwin High School students attended the event and had the opportunity to network with representatives from various trades and industries.

The students participated in activities such as using basic hand tools and small power tools to make a caddy.

The session provided the young women with access to career role models and is run in conjunction with the Australian Governments National Careers Institute.

SALT Program Coordinator, Fi Shewring said that

the aim of the workshop is to encourage girls to consider trades careers by mentoring small groups of students through the project while encouraging them to make positive career choices and consider a range of possible career pathways that young women do not normally consider
