School Returns for Students on Tuesday 20 July
https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au/We hope that everyone has enjoyed the break and we look forward to seeing you next week when school returns on Tuesday 20 July. Below is some information to assist you with preparations for the first day of school for Term 3.
The bell will go at 7.55 am and all Year 10 students are asked to attend an assembly in the Tank.
SIEU students are to go to the Exam Centre for an assembly.
Year 11 and Year 12 students are asked to go straight to their Lesson 1 timetabled class. Year 11 students will attend an assembly in the Tank in Lesson 2.
Timetables are now available in Compass and hard copies will only be handed to students who are new to Darwin High School or who don’t have access to Compass. Please email [email protected] with your student name and Year Level to request a printed copy.
Darwin High School continues to do everything possible to provide education in a safe environment and to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This will mean the operating guidelines put in place at the beginning of the year will remain for Term 3. There are some hygiene and health routines students will need to maintain, including:
- If a student is unwell they must remain at home and parents/carers should notify the school as soon as possible.
- The bubblers are available for drinking but students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school each day.
- Wash hands as often as possible, particularly before/after eating and after going to the bathroom.
Given the current COVID-19 situation across Australia, we ask that parents/carers let us know if you are affected by any of the lockdowns, hotspots or quarantine directions that will impact your child/ren returning to school next week. For more information and the latest updates visit https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au/
If students are unable to attend school due to COVID-19 restrictions, please contact us as soon as possible so we can ensure they have access to learning while they are away from school.
Darwin High School continues to have a strong focus on student attendance. Families can support this by ensuring students arrive on time and by notifying the school of any absences as soon as possible. Parents and guardians can notify an absence in Compass or by phoning 8999 1222 or emailing [email protected]
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another busy and exciting Semester.
