Semester 2 Subject Selection
Semester 2 Subject selection for Year 10, 11 and SIEU students opened today, Monday 22 April via Web Preferences and closes on Friday 3 May. Selecting appropriate subjects can be a challenging task but there is support available to help make the choices easier.
Students were provided with more information regarding subject availability in their Wellbeing class today and a pdf with step-by-step instructions is available in Compass.
Year 10 students completed subject selection during class time today and Year 11 students will need to complete their subject selection at home, this provides a great opportunity for parents/carers to be involved with the process and to have a conversation about pathways and interests. SIEU students will complete subject selection with their teachers.
For subject selection support and pathway advice please make contact with the relevant Year Level Careers Practitioner:
- Year 10 students: Meg Davis [email protected]
- Year 11 students: Lorna Bade [email protected]
A Curriculum Handbook with an overview of the subjects available and possible pathways is available on the Darwin High School webpage Curriculum (darwinhigh.nt.edu.au)
Students who are interested in the Centre for Skills and Training need to complete an Expression of Interest Form for Semester 2 and interviews will be held for those shortlisted. Centre for Skills and Training (darwinhigh.nt.edu.au)
A link to Web Preferences has been emailed to student's school email, please check junk mail before contacting the relevant Year Level Coordinator if students have not received their link.
- Year 10: Jennifer Montgomery [email protected]
- Year 11: Samantha Deacon [email protected]
- SIEU: Sonya Batten (Senior Teacher) [email protected]
Some Stage 1 subjects are available to Year 10 students and some Stage 2 subjects are open to Year 11 students. Year Level Coordinators and Careers Practitioners will support students to make informed pathway choices.
