Seniors Morning of Entertainment
On Friday 25 August, Darwin High School hosted the annual Seniors Morning of Entertainment.
The program for the morning was packed with student performances including: The Darwin High School Concert Band; Bullocky Precinct Band; Music students; Dance students; and, upon request from last year, an energising Bollywood performance to close out the show.
Year 12 students Matthew Shaw and Eliza Pridham shared the MC role, while Secondary Intensive English Unit (SIEU) students created a welcoming environment for the seniors by escorting them into the Tank and making them comfortable.
The event was attended by more than 100 members of the community who also enjoyed a morning tea prepared and served by Penny McIntyre’s Stage 2 Catering class. The students chose recipes in line with Nutrition Australia guidelines for maximum nutrition in small portions and followed a defined catering budget.
Feedback on the event was overwhelmingly positive:
Thank you to all, the lemon tarts were ‘to-die-for’. Wishing the students all the very best for their futures. – Frances
