Shark Sustainability Workshop
At the end of Term 3 our Year 11 Biology classes had the opportunity to participate in a workshop with a PhD researcher from Charlies Darwin University on shark sustainability.
CDU PhD student Amy Kirke, is also the Northern Territories Rural Women Award winner for 2020 and runs science outreach programs in schools and communities in the Northern Territory.
Her workshop included a hands-on, interactive game that simulates fishing and its effect on ecosystems and productivity and an introduction to management and basic histograms.
Thank you Amy for visiting DHS, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
