SIEU Celebrate Graduates

SIEU Celebrate Graduates

It was smiles all around (and perhaps some tears too) at the celebratory lunch with staff and SIEU students on Wednesday as they farewelled the former SIEU students who are soon to complete Year 12 and their NTCET.

The students have come from a diverse range of backgrounds, prior educational experiences and living situations and various amounts of English. They have managed to negotiate a new curriculum in a different language (for some, English is their third language) whilst developing the confidence and skills to become active citizens in our community.

SIEU Faculty Senior, Jenny Jenkinson said

We are enormously proud of them. To see how far they have come is inspirational

The Year 12s had plenty of advice for the SIEU students who now fill the classes where they began, “Keep trying to do your best,” “Don’t be shy about asking for help,” and above all, “Save your assignments in three places!”
