Students complete Sailing Course

Students complete Sailing Course

This term, two Darwin High School Stage 1 Integrated Learning PE Classes participated in a five week sailing unit where students are assessed on their practical skills as well as documenting their own personal venture.

The course is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to sailing for complete beginners and included an introduction to fundamental boat handling skills and essential safety knowledge. On completion the students have sufficient skills to go onto the next course which then entitles them to sail solo in controlled and supervised conditions.
