Students support Sponsor Child
By student reporter Misa MacDonald
Over the last few weeks, Darwin High school has been holding a great deal of amazing fundraisers for our World Vision sponsor child Chipiriro Stanley. Sponsoring a child in the developing world is a popular form of charitable giving and we as a school are thankful that we have this opportunity to support Stanley. Each year we support him, and have been ever since primary school — Stanley is now in Year 10.
The students in our talented African Girl’s Dance Class have been working extremely hard and have been performing in the theatrette for the past few days this week, as well as some great bake sales entitled “Sweets for Stanley” that have contributed towards this meaningful cause. The student body has also enjoyed the photo booth, and as a result, the school community raised $700. Stanley wishes to extend his gratitude and thanks towards the sponsorship as “the health program keeps us safe from diseases.” We hope to continue our sponsorship with Stanley in our future endeavours.
