Top Award at Language Competition

On Saturday 8 August, 12 high school students from across Australia took part in the Chinese Bridge competition hosted by the Confucius Institute at UWA.
The students competed online, each demonstrating their Chinese speaking skills. They also completed a written general knowledge test in Chinese and submitted videos demonstrating their talents at Chinese singing, dancing, cooking, tea art and calligraphy.
Darwin High School student Chi Tran was awarded first prize for the 2020 Chinese Bridge Proficiency Competition first round and then the regional final for Secondary Students from ACT, NT, SA and WA.
Chi dressed in traditional Chinese clothes and performed the dance《落花》(Falling flower) as part of the cultural performance.
She will now represent the Northern Territory at the national competition later this year..
Congratulations and best of luck!
