Treasure Language Storytelling

Treasure Language Storytelling

Last month Darwin High School’s SIEU (Senior Intensive English Unit) student, Safi Sango delivered a breathtaking performance as part of the Treasure Language Storytelling production at Darwin’s Brownsmart Theatre. Darwin High School teacher, Jenny Jenkinson, said that,

Safi performed amongst people twice her age and with much more life experience and education. She stole the show with her beautiful speaking voice, infectious smile and warm heart.

Treasure Language Storytelling consists of live performances of stories in the performer’s original languages. Audiences are given the chance to appreciate: sounds, rhythms and untranslatable words of languages are from near and far. Indigenous and immigrant language speakers come together for a unique performance.
