Volleyball Victories

On Friday 10 June, 60 students from Darwin High attended the combined Regional Volleyball Day at Marrara Indoor Stadium. Darwin High entered six teams – three in each of the Senior Boys and Girls competitions.

Each team played four games, as well as assisting with umpiring and scoring.

Darwin High won both girls’ and boys’ competitions beating teams from Casuarina Senior College and O’Laughlin Catholic College. The girls’ teams performed especially well, each team only losing one game (to other Darwin High teams!) during the day. Students had an enjoyable day, displaying excellent teamwork and sportsmanship as they represented their school.

Congratulations to Year 12 students Chris Bryett and Georgia Sullivan who captained the winning teams.

Many thanks to Darwin High teachers John Shield, Carolyn Knutsen and Kate Leadbeater for accompanying and coaching the teams.
