What's Cooking at Darwin High

What's Cooking at Darwin High

Over the last fortnight our Home Economics students have been busy making some amazing culinary creations in the kitchen.

The Year 10 Food for Life students undertook the challenge of modifying their favourite foods to make them healthier. Below is a Chicken Pizza, where the student modified the dish to include low fat cheese, less oil and baking instead of frying.

Another student made a healthier Brownie, using less sugar and dark unsweetened chocolate.

Another favourite meal to get a makeover was the ever popular chicken schnitzel. This student modified the meal to increase the salad portion, swapped the deep fried potatoes for sliced sweet potatoe and used low fat cheese.

The Year 10 Stylish Food students were also working on healthy food options, creating these delicious zucchini fritters.
