Whole School Professional Development

Whole School Professional Development

On 25 July, all Darwin High School teachers participated in a whole school professional development day. Staff continued their focus on the implementation of Visible Learning in all classrooms to improve student outcomes. Part of the day was devoted to reviewing students’ results from Semester 1 to identify successful approaches and areas for improvement.

Principal, Trevor Read, delivered a compelling presentation of NT and national data on the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people. This was followed by extensive discussion on the important role of our school in providing support to enable students to succeed, this will inform future enhancements to the student support services available on campus.

Teachers also received training in the Department of Education’s new student administration system and worked within their faculty areas to finalise planning and assessment arrangements for the semester ahead.
