Writers' Day

On Monday 9 May, poets and writers working with the NT Writers’ Centre visited Darwin High to conduct workshops with students in Year 10 and Year 11.
Laurie May and Zohab Zee Kahn performed their unique and engaging slam poetry for the students and got them thinking about how they can be more expressive. Cartoonist, Eleri Harris, worked with classes to produce a zine (fanzine or magazine). Screenwriter, Leisl Egan, showed students how to adapt their ideas for film and television.
It is a rare opportunity for students to have artists of world renown in their fields come into classes. By all account, students were inspired to think creatively.
