Year 11 Excursion - Street Smart High next Thursday

Year 11 Excursion - Street Smart High next Thursday

The Street Smart High road safety awareness event is on Thursday, 27th March, and is compulsory for all Year 11 students

Students will attend Lesson 1 before departing Darwin High at 9:20 AM for the Darwin Convention Centre, where the event runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The event includes interactive displays and a crash scene re-enactment, which may be distressing. Counsellors will be available for support. Students must bring their own lunch and water, as no catering is provided. The venue will be in lockdown mode, meaning no one can leave to buy food.

Students who do not wish to attend must decline the event on Compass and remain at home, as no Year 11 classes will be held (except Lesson 1). Parents must provide consent via Compass or email.

The event aims to educate students on road safety and responsible driving. Students will also complete pre- and post-event surveys in their Wellbeing classes.
