Year 12 Graduation & Awards

Year 12 Graduation & Awards

The Year 12 Graduation and Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2022 will take place on Tuesday 22 November at the Darwin Convention Centre.

The Graduation will be held in the auditorium and students can bring their parents/partners/family/friends to this event, there is a maximum of 3 guests per student. An online registration system is available by clicking here and a link to the event live stream will be shared on our social media pages and Compass closer to the date.

The dress code is smart casual and we ask students and families to arrive and be seated by 5.15pm for a 5.30pm start. Students have allocated seating in their SEL groups, their guests are able to sit wherever they wish within the allocated sections. The Darwin Convention Centre also has disabled access, please email [email protected] if you require ground-floor seating.

In addition to recognising the completion of Year 12, this event will also celebrate the leadership, community contributions and outstanding academic achievements of the Class of 2022.

The Graduation will be followed by the Year 12 Formal Dinner from 7.30pm – 11pm, also at the Darwin Convention Centre and is a Darwin High School Year 12 student event only. Tickets for the Year 12 Formal are $130 and can be purchased until Tuesday 8 November via Compass Tix and include a sit-down meal, soft drinks, DJ and professional photography. The Formal Dinner is an alcohol and drug free event. If students leave the Convention Centre, they will not be permitted back in.

As outlined in the Darwin High School attendance policy students that have maintained attendance above 90% are eligible to purchase a ticket for the Year 12 Formal. This requirement does not apply to the Year 12 Graduation & Awards Ceremony. Students who are currently not eligible because their attendance is below 90% can make an appeal to the School Executive team by emailing Mr Liam Phillips outlining their extenuating circumstances. Each case will be examined individually. Students are able to check their attendance with Student Services or Year 12 Coordinator Ms Deacon if they have met the attendance criteria.
