Youth Sailing

Youth Sailing

This Term Mr Andreae and Mr Marshall’s Stage 1 Integrated Learning PE classes have been undertaking the Darwin Sailing Club’s 6-week 'Out There' Sailing Youth Program.

The program teaches students about the parts of the boat, how to tie knots, capsize and recover, points of sail, jib work, communication, tacking, gybing and man overboard.

Students thus far have loved the opportunity to learn how to sail. Sitting out on the harbour in a sail boat at this time of year is not a bad way to spend a lesson.

The Darwin Sailing Club Out There Sailing Youth Program is available to all youth 13-17 years of age throughout the Dry. To find out more or register, check out their website: OutThere Sailing - Darwin Sailing Club - revolutioniseSPORT
