Youth Voice Peak Group

Youth Voice Peak Group

Earlier this term, students from Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and remote, participated in a collaborative workshop facilitated by Adam Drake from Balanced Choice and Summer Howarth from Eventful Learning Co, where they shared thoughts and ideas with Department of Education staff about what the functions and purpose of what the Youth Voice Peak Group (YVPG) should or could be.

Year 10 students Amy Tinsley, Year 11 student Alby Thomas and year 12 student Peehu Choudhary represented Darwin High School.

The voices from the workshop will inform the purpose, structure, and processes of a new YVPG, which will guide government decision making and help shape how the department develops and adopts programs and policy that impacts young people.
