Creative Arts - Film Production

About the subject

In the Stage 1 Film Production course students are developing technical film production and theoretical film analysis skills. They will learn to unpack films as well as create their own. There is a combination of collaborative and individual activities and assessments. We link to local filmmakers and industry professionals through excursions and in school workshops. The course is active, hands-on and dynamic, and leads students through a variety of creative challenges. Students have the opportunity to exhibit their films at school and at screenings open to the public. Students are involved in all stages of their film development.

Film production has a specialised room housing 25 flat screen computers installed with industry standard video editing software; Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop dedicated purely for digital video editing. Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras, lenses, portable lighting, microphones, Go Pros, drone, professional tripods and accessories are also available for students.
