Film Production caters for students interested in film, television, journalism, advertising, music video visual arts content creation.
In the Stage 2 Film Production course students are developing and building on technical film production and theoretical film analysis skills. They learn to read films as well as create their own. We link to local filmmakers and industry professionals through excursions and in-school workshops. The course is active, hands-on and dynamic, and leads students through a variety of creative challenges. Students are involved in all stages of their film development and have the opportunity to have their films screened both at school and at public screenings. Video is a part of contemporary society and industry; Stage 2 Film Production is rich in many desirable transferable 21st Century Skills to help prepare students for a range of careers.
Film production has a specialised room housing 25 flat screen computers installed with industry standard video editing software; Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop dedicated purely for digital video editing. Canon DSLR and mirrorless cameras, lenses, portable lighting, microphones, Go Pros, drone, professional tripods and accessories are also available for students.
This course supports students who are interested in screen arts, such as film, video, experimental and conceptual film art. The support materials folio developed in this course are used for University Entrance Applications in Visual, Media and Screen Arts courses.
