Grameem Bank Internship

Darwin High School student Ritwik Dasgupta undertook an internship at Grameen Bank in Dhaka (Bangladesh) from 13 to 24 December 2015. The Grameem Bank was the first to use the principles of microeconomic lending to the disadvantaged. It was set up by Nobel prize winner, Professor Yunus in Bangladesh as a project in the 1970s. Eventually it became an independent bank in the early eighties in Bangladesh.

Ritwik has always shown a strong interest in Commerce and Economics, and he completed an internship focusing on the lending principles of microeconomics.
