Sustainability Mapping with Stage 1 and Stage 2 Geography

Stage 1 and 2 Geography students attended a day organised by NT Minerals to learn about mining industry, careers and how we use drones and remote sensing technologies to sustainably map, monitor and resource our future.

This hands-on practical day involved coding and flying mini-drones, learning more about the NT’s mining history and future, as well as having the opportunity to meet industry leaders that are using advanced technologies such as drones to map, monitor and mine our future resources.

Students were introduced to geology, mining exploration process and SheMap activities, that included coding the drones and surveying an area.

Some of their smiling faces were even featured in the NT News article about the event.
