STEAM Building Grand Opening
On Monday 21 October the Honourable Selena Uibo MLA, Minister for Education officially opened Darwin High Schools new STEAM building. The event was also attended by many members of our school community, who joined us in celebrating this incredible new facility.
This $15.9M project provides students with fifteen modern and interconnecting classrooms over two levels, a cutting-edge robotics and electronics hub and integrated learning presentation and project spaces allowing them to work collaboratively and solve complex problems. This cutting-edge facility will provide our students now and into the future with cutting edge learning spaces that will prepare students to develop skills and to pursue their chosen pathways, interests and aspirations.

Principal, Jill Hazeldine said
As Darwin High School approaches 60 years at the Bullocky Point site, today we celebrate our longstanding history as a proud leader in public education in the Northern Territory and this incredible new building that will serve students now and into the future.
Having access to a facility like this for our students is a game changer. It allows teaching and learning to occur in a way that we haven’t been able to realise in the facilities that we’ve had previously. Now our students have access to a state-the-art facility that allows them to collaborate and develop all of the 21st century learning skills that we expect students to have to be able to go into the workforce.

Thank you to all the staff and students who contributed to the grand opening event, we look forward to further sharing this incredible new space.
