Class of 1996

After graduating from Darwin High in 1996, ranked third in the Northern Territory, Tsu Shan Chambers (nee. Lee) spent 12 months on student exchange in China. Tasu Shan Chambers

During university and for her first few working years, Tsu Shan experienced the corporate world as an executive, private enterprise and non-for profit. She has travelled the world for work and pleasure, volunteered internationally in developing countries and also within Australia, helping very different people and demographics.

Tsu Shan says it is her persistence and courage to keep working in alignment and integrity with her purpose in life that has helped her create many wonderful experiences.

Awards

During this time, she won the Northern Territory Young Achievers Awards 2003 – Winner of Parmalat Community Service Award, 2002 Young Territorian of the Year for the Darwin Region and was Young Australian of the Year 2002 Semi‐Finalist for The Pacific Access Community Service Award.

Family

Whilst in Darwin, she reconnected with fellow Darwin High school classmate, Brian Chambers and they later married. They moved to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland to have a family and Tsu Shan became a qualified yoga teacher. Soon after, she opened up her own integrative wellness centre after having her second child. Four years later, after her having a third child, she landed on the front cover of Profile Magazine after winning The Outstanding Business Woman of the Year. Her business was also a QLD finalist in the Telstra Business Awards.

Future directions

However, Tsu Shan always had a desire to stretch towards her artistic and creative side. After needing to move to Sydney for Brian’s work, Tsu Shan auditioned for the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) to study screen acting, was successful and is now working as a professional actress and a producer and has started her own film production company, Wise Goat Productions. Her intention is create work that provokes thought about issues that matter and to inspire through making a positive difference, one life at a time.

Tsu Shan says it is her persistence and courage to keep working in alignment and integrity with her purpose in life that has helped her create many wonderful experiences.
