Ambon to Darwin
Earlier this month Darwin High School welcomed three students and a teacher on exchange from Ambon, Indonesia. This is the second part of the exchange, with our Indonesian Language students visiting Ambon last term.

Last term, twenty-one students in Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Indonesian classes participated in Assessment of Languages Competence (ACER).
Darwin High School Year 12 student Max Conaghan has been announced as a finalist in the 2018 Bond University Film and Television Awards (BUFTA).

Darwin High School Year 10 History students have been looking at the struggle for rights and freedoms in the twentieth century, with a focus on the Indigenous civil rights movement in Australia.
Last Friday two Darwin High School students represented the Northern Territory at the 2018 Apex Australian Teenage Fashion and Arts Festival in Melbourne. Year 11 student Denique Stewart competed in the Wearable Art category and Year 10 student Maneeza Rahmany in the Casual Wear category.
Earlier this month the Tournament of Minds International Final was held in Darwin and Darwin High School was represented in a combined team with Darwin Middle.
Towards the end of last term, Federal Minister for Solomon, Luke Gosling visited Darwin High School to speak to Stage 1 Politics and Legal Studies students.
Darwin High School’s Year 12 students have reached the end of their formal classes for the year. Last week the School Board recognised the success of the Schools high achievers. School Board member and Lord Mayor, the Hon. Kon Vatskalis attended on the Board’s behalf, thanking the students for their efforts and dedication to their studies.
On Monday 24 September, sixteen Darwin High School students and two teachers departed Darwin for the 2018 Ambon Trip.
