Do you love English?

Darwin High School invites current Year 9 students to register for the Students of High Performance: English program. SOHP students have an interest in English literature and study challenging texts.

Staying in the program

There is an expectation that students in the SOHP English program maintain a high level of performance in order to remain in the program. This relates to both summative and formative assessment items, as well as participation, work ethic and attendance.

Students' results are reviewed at the end of Semester 1 each year, and potential SOHP students in mainstream classes have a chance to gain a place.

How do I apply?

Entry into the program is selective and students must sit a test to be considered. A $10 registration fee applies to sit the test.

Register through CompassTix. Registration closes at 3:00pm on Friday 4 September 2026, and late registrations will not be accepted.
